The Spiritual Man
Complementing the Professional Man is the Spiritual Man. My spiritual
quest has been a five-decade process of acquiring and discarding, assimilating and shedding, growing and evolving.
And there is so much more to come!
I won't bore you with my early life experiences. Instead, I'll begin
my story at the single point in space-time where everything changed for me--June 23, 1991.
I set out from my home in South Florida around mid-day to celebrate my
nephew's third birthday. Little did I know it was to be my birthday, too, because a few hours later, a rogue bolt
of lightning shot from a clear sky and struck me down. In that instant, my old self died and my new Self was born.
Of course, I didn't know this at the time. All I knew was that there
was a lot of physical and emotional distress, immediately followed by a descent into the darkness, where I remained
for three years, encountering my Shadow and doing a powerful dance in the embrace of the Dark Goddess.
Following my return to the Light during the Winter Solstice of 1994,
however, I began writing a series of modern parables that would serve as the starting point of a much larger work.
Thus was Atlantis born from a seed thought that had been planted almost a decade earlier--a decade in which I had
embarked on a heroic journey of psychospiritual healing, growth, exploration, and discovery.
And what a journey it has been and continues to be--from A Course
in Miracles to holotropic breathwork; from angels and archetypes to sacred geometry and shamanic studies; from
the 12 Steps to discovering and recovering the 12 aspects of my creative self; from corporate life to community
service; from learning along the Path of Direct Experience to lecturing, teaching, and helping others who share
the Path with me.
